Students will learn the principals of lean manufacturing including standardized work, workplace organization, visual controls, set-up reduction, batch size reduction, point of use storage, quality at the source, workforce practices, and pull systems to eliminate waste and how to apply them to your company. At the end of this workshop students have an understanding of the eight wastes in manufacturing and how to eliminate them. During a series of hands-on simulations students apply lean concepts such as standardized work, visual signals, batch-size reduction, pull systems and more. You begin by manufacturing clocks in a traditional manufacturing environment to gain experience. Geared for shop floor but for all levels of the company.
