Description:
|
Clean and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment. Set up,deliver to surgical areas, hospital rooms, clinics and patient's homes. Assemble, adjust, check non-sterile equipment, and sterile supplies for surgery or medical procedures. Learn how microbes and germs cause infections, managing inventory, order supplies, inspecting, maintaining, delivering and retrieving equipment and instruments for surgery, emergency room and patient care units. Class includes hands-on experience in a sterile processing dept. at a local facility. Clinical times may vary based on clinic site schedules.Students must take the IAHCSMM exam to obtain certification. Clinical hours may vary from course hours. |
