Six Sigma is an approach to improve the quality of the output of any process by identifying and removing the root cause of defects while minimizing variability in manufacturing and business processes. Six Sigma follows the DMAIC process.
Students will learn the following:
1. Define - the system, the voice of the customer and their requirements, the goals and the problem.
2. Measure - the key inputs to the process, collect relevant data and calculate Process Capability.
3. Analyze - the data to identify cause and effect relationships and identify Root Cause.
4. Improve - the process by implementing standard work, mistake-proofing, Flow and Pull Systems.
5. Control - the process using Visual SPC, production and quality boards.
