This 80 hour course will prepare students planning to sit for the Massachusetts State Oil Burner Certification Exam. This course is NORA (National Oil Research Alliance) Bronze level rated and certified. NORA standards required a Bronze level technician to have 80 hours of education to take the Bronze Oil Burner Exam. The students will meet learning objectives through lecture, practice tests, handouts, and hands on activities with oil burners that are in the classroom for learning purposes. The learning objectives and topics include troubleshooting the most basic to the most difficult of oil burner service calls. Topics include heating oil and properties, oil tanks and piping, fuel oil pumps, nozzles and combustion chambers, and more.
