The emphasis of this course is on improving suppliers’ performance - quality, cost, delivery, and lead time. The course provides the methodology of assessing the effectiveness of customer-supplier relationships and measuring the gap between a company’s present practices and the ideal state. It presents the importance of materials management, and especially purchasing in supplier management. Major topics include: the elements of the supplier-customer partnership; improving supplier quality/delivery/cost/lead time, etc. This course, targeted to purchasers, engineers, quality staff, and production staff, will be taught in person in a mix of class lecture, group discussion and hands-on activities and exercises.
