Functional managers measure performance to improve it. Metrics and dashboards are powerful tools for tracking organizational performance, but sometimes do not link to performance measurements at the functional or department level. Managerial Measurements track functional performance, by area of responsibility, that will deliver organizational goals. This course engages each class member in defining the elements of functional or departmental performance that are critical to achieving the current business plan and related objectives. This course, targeted to managers and upper management, will be taught in person in a mix of lecture, discussion and hands-on activities. Development of function-specific metrics will be the class project.
