This course teaches a time-tested process approach to problem solving. It teaches participants various problem-solving tools through a thorough discussion of each tool and it presents a methodology for using tools with a systematic approach. The following tools are presented: bar chart; barriers and aids; brainstorming; cause-and-effect diagram; check sheet; flowchart; histogram; interview; line graph; list reduction; matrix; pareto chart; pie chart; and survey. This course, targeted to supervisors, managers and technical staff, will be taught in person in a mix of class lecture, group discussion and hands-on activities and exercises.
