This course presents the need for food defense and the basics of a Food Defense Plan, those measures put in place to protect food and food production from willful acts intended to cause harm.
The course looks at the four sections of an SQF-compliant Food Defense Plan and typical measures employed within each; Outside Security, Inside Security, Personnel Security and Incident Response Security. Each section's requirements are reviewed in detail and related to the class's work environment and current practice. This course, targeted to hourly workers, will be taught in person in a mix of class lecture, group discussion and hands-on activities and exercises.
