Initiatives like the AIA Materials Pledge, Carbon Leadership Forum, Mindful Materials, BuildingGreen, and more are emerging at an unprecedented rate. Still, firms struggle to figure out what to do about the impacts of building materials on public and environmental health. Specifically, many firms still need to determine their own priorities to plan for a consistent approach at the project level. Adopting an internally-driven standard for material health can take many forms. Through a combination of presentation and discussion, this session teaches building industry professionals about the methodology for creating this standard, how to set priorities, how get buy-in across teams, and more. This course can be held virtually or in-person.
