All workers need to be aware of differences between disaster sites & regular construction or demo worksites. Post disaster cleanup workers can face potential hazards from oil and chemical spills and leaks, debris, unstable work surfaces, and electrical lines. In addition, the equipment used to do the cleanup work may also pose hazards, particularly to those not trained to properly use it. The training will act as a health and safety resource for “skilled support personnel” who will participate in planning for and post disaster response and cleanup activities. It will help workers understand, at an awareness level, how to identify and control hazards pertaining to the response and cleanup activities. Offered in-person or virtually.
