Description:

This practical language training course emphasizes the fundamentals of Spanish for health professionals, focusing on "survival" Spanish language skills and cross-cultural training in the office/clinic setting. Participants learn intermediate-level language that applies specifically to healthcare. Through hands-on instruction (either in person or virtually), students will learn to successfully manage communication with native speakers, and role-play situations encountered on the job. The 6-week intermediate course includes patient intake; vitals; date of birth; primary assessment/chief complaint; diagnostic questions; commands; lab and treatment procedures; cultural barriers to care; curanderos/traditional healers, and natural/home remedies. |
