Description:
|
Bloodborne pathogens can be highly infectious when workers are exposed. Proper training can reduce or eliminate risk of infection. This class focuses on bloodborne pathogen hazards and safe practices for those likely to be exposed to blood or other potentially infectious materials (OPIM), such as healthcare workers, first-aid responders, janitorial/maintenance staff at healthcare facilities, and those who clean areas contaminated with blood or OPIM. Attendees will learn to evaluate bloodborne pathogen hazards; identify types and symptoms of bloodborne diseases; recognize how the diseases spread; and determine and protect against exposure risk. The course is virtual and self-paced with tests throughout and a final exam required to pass. |
