This is a synchronous online and in-person laboratory course held in the Lowell MA campus. This course is part of the Dental Assisting program which lead to the Dental Assistant license. This course is taken with Preclinical, Dental Science 1, Concepts in Risks Management and Dental Assisting. This course introduces the concepts of ionizing radiation and the production, properties, dosages, hazards and protective devices related to the dental X-ray. The lab portion of the course focuses on the application of dental radiology. The ideal candidate for this course is an adult over 18, able to lift and carry 5 lbs, meet MA school immunization requirements, CORI and SORI checks, and is legally permitted to work. |
