Description:

This is a 3 credits synchronous online and in-person laboratory course that is part of the Dental Assisting Program. Graduates can immediately apply for the Dental Assistant License. This course is taken with Preclinical, Dental Radiology, Dental Science 1 and Concepts in Risks Management. The concepts of chairside assisting procedures commonly used in a dental office are introduced. Focus is on infection control, procedures performed in dentistry, the theory and the instruments and materials. Clinical and professional skills, as well as ethical standards for patient care, will be discussed and developed. This course is for adults able to carry 5 lbs, meet school immunization requirements, CORI checks and legally permitted to work. |
