This is a 3 credits synchronous online and hands-on laboratory course. It is part of the Dental Assisting program. Graduates can apply for the Dental Assistant licenses after graduation. This course is taken with Dental Science 2, Dental Practice Management, Preventive Dentistry and Clinical Practicum. It is designed to introduce the students to the concepts of dental materials science which are used in patient treatment. It focuses on the clinical application including; infection control, clinical judgment regarding selection, safety, and effectiveness of various dental materials. The lab allows students to manipulate and utilize the materials. This course is suitable for adults who are able to carry 5 lbs and legally permitted to work |
