Understanding restaurant financials is the key to unlocking the full potential of a business. All employees directly impact the bottom line, so it is crucial to understand what makes a food business profitable. During the first part of this workshop course, we will introduce participants to key financial concepts that make or break a restaurant in an approachable way. No finance background required. Next, we will break into smaller groups to apply what we learned to a real-world case study. From COGS to NOP, participants will walk away knowing how to interpret a basic Pand L and how to use this tool to guide their own decision making in the kitchen and beyond. This course is suitable for all restaurant staff, in person or virtually.
