This course is an introductory Diversity and Inclusion training where participants will learn to become aware of the issues that are common sources of tension and inequity in modern professional settings. The training will go over a common understanding of identity, intersectionality and its relation to equity, the importance of culture, what a microaggression is, and what to do if you receive, witness, or commit one. Participants will learn through lectures and in-class activities. Taking this course will familiarize the participants of the issues surrounding diversity and inclusion and increase their confidence, trust, and comfortability it takes to address these issues. The ideal audience for this course is supervisors and managers.
