3P’s starting point is a blank sheet of paper rather than an existing layout. The technique is used to create innovative new layouts and production processes for products. 3P provides a few specific guidelines for layout and equipment improvement, its chief strength is in the collaboration of many internal experts. Resulting layouts and production methods often represent breakthrough thinking, creating a target condition that is different from past approaches and unique in the improvement it brings to the new production operation. Designed for cross-functional teams, this 4-day course is best delivered onsite but can be done virtually. It is instructor-led and uses a combo of lecture and hands-on practice focused on the actual processes.
