Description:

The Early Childhood Education Academy]includes paid classroom instruction, on the job work training at a YMCA early childhood center, and ongoing, on-the-job coaching with experienced early childhood educators and mentoring with teacher leaders from a YMCA early childhood center. It also includes a 3-credit Child Development college course, and contextualized ESOL for English learners. Academic skills are also core to the Pre-Apprenticeship Program. The training includes academic writing, that the builds capacity and improves ability to write case notes, assessments, and communications with families. It will also focus on raising awareness to the stages of child development and building a foundation of knowledge for working with children. |
